Urban Mom’s Support Group Wednesday’s 11am-12:30pm

Our free Urban Mom’s Support Group that happens every Wednesday from 11:00am - 12:30pm will be having guest speakers from from NW Baby Wearers to present on “Baby Wearing.” Topics include: History of traditional carriers, choosing a safe baby carrier, what to look for in a carrier (ie: hip and spine development reasons), how wearing your baby counts as tummy time (ie: developmental benefits), any many more useful tips and advice about baby wearing. You'll walk away with a wealth of knowledge and ideas for carryover at home through songs, age-approriate games and play.

Come Sign With Us! Portland Early Learning Presents FAMILY Sign Language in Play: 6 Tuesdays @ 11am Sept. 7 - Oct. 12, $89Price includes up to 2 parents and 1 child (ages 2-4)
This class allows parents and caregivers to learn ASL alongside their 2-4 year old child. Families learn functional phrases and vocabulary through books, group games, songs and more!

This class will emphasize the innate strength and awareness pregnant women possess in order to handle the physical and emotional changes that accompany pregnancy, labor and delivery. Through yoga based stretching and meditation, our instructor will create an environment of physical and emotional support that will help to carry a woman through her journey of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood.

Being a mother, especially a new mother, is very exciting but adjusting to all the new changes can be both physically and emotionally challenging. In this class we will use gentle yoga poses to re-acquaint yourself with your non-pregnant body, help you release tension & stress so you can better relax, and build strength and stamina to help handle the demands of parenting a newborn. Meditation and guided visualizations will help to calm the mind and soothe the emotions, bringing a greater sense of peace and confidence while assisting you in coping with fatigue and hormonal changes. You will also meet other new mamas and have the opportunity to share ideas, learn from one another and most importantly, support each other through the amazing journey of motherhood.
