EcoBaby Gear and Loving Touch are hosting a Spa Baby Massage Day this Friday August 14 from 11- 12:15 noon. Moms and Dads will be learning an introduction to baby massage followed by a relaxing European Style Spa Baby Tub Bath. We will be doing a second event the last Friday of August (8/28) and the media will be here to provide some coverage. We are looking for parents with newborns between 2 and 5 months of age. Description: Looking for a way to exercise and share a close bond with your new baby? This carefully crafted curriculum lets you share the intimacy of nursing, swaddling, and cuddling while experiencing all the great benefits of Pilates. Having a new baby to hold can be strenuous on your upper body, causing your shoulders to roll forward into a slouch, or what is call \”Kyphosis.\” To help correct this and prepare your muscles for the weight of your growing baby, Mom and Baby Pilates incorporates core activating breathing, arm and upper body strengthening techniques with simple mat exercises and props such as resistance bands and exercise balls. This class is encouraged for Cesarean recovery. Must be at least 6 weeks postpartum to attend. Pre-crawling babies are welcome to join class! Please have your Mid-wife\’s or Health Care Provider\’s approval before starting this class. Private classes available.

All of us here at Eco Baby Gear would like to wish everyone a Happy Earth Day Today! In efforts to help spread awareness on this day we want to encourage everyone to do something good for the earth today. If it is recycling all your old stored up soda bottles, plastic yogurt containers, milk jugs, or anything else that can be recycled. Use less water when taking a shower (maybe don’t even take a shower today!), ride a bike, bus, or car-pool with a friend. Plant a tree in your yard or start to grow your own vegtables in a garden. Use less electricity, don’t watch television today or turn some lights out. So all and all we hope everyone can do something to better our planet today and just be aware of the earth we all live on. We need to be aware on how we live so when all of our babies grow up they can have a healthy planet to live on. Happy Earth Day!

We just wanted to let you know in case you forgot that Earth Day is almost here! Every Year on April 22 is the celebration of Earth Day, this has been an ongoing event since 1969. Earth Day is a global holiday to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment. [1] How can you help or take part in the celebrated tradition? Well for starters, if you live in Oregon you most likely already are aware of the green movement and probably already know about the importance of recycling, using less, your carbon footprint and being aware of what kind of products you purchase for your family.
